The name "Yeti" comes from the Tibetan word "yeh-teh," which means "rocky bear." The creature is said to be a large, ape-like animal with long, shaggy hair and a distinct odor. Some reports describe the Yeti as standing over 7 feet tall and weighing over 400 pounds.
